Helping American industry build & operate energy infrastructure

Our mission is to transform and translate regulatory data and actions into business intelligence that drives project development and commodity transaction decisions.

We value our strong relationships with the industry leaders and market makers who power America.

Our founding roots

Arbo leadership’s shared values and a strong belief in American energy independence was shaped by their service in conflicts and regions where access to natural resources is an ongoing geopolitical challenge.

As an entrepreneurial energy regulatory attorney, our Founder, Chip, believed bet-the-company decisions should harness emerging technologies and a new approach. He joined forces with some fellow Navy veterans, including our COO, Craig, to bring a military intelligence approach to the commercial intelligence needs of customers.

Our track record

Arbo helped propel the previous industry transition from coal to gas by providing data and engineering software that predicted regulatory milestones and roadblocks for billion dollar pipeline projects. Today, Arbonauts are fired up to be helping the industry’s best companies anticipate and interpret regulatory, judicial, and policy events that impact the investment, development, and utilization of energy infrastructure.

Our energizing purpose

The world’s most important industry is in a historic evolution impacting everyone. We believe in America’s energy independence, innovation, and industry. The future requires robust infrastructure to transport and connect cleaner energy commodities to consumers. There can be no energy transition without permission — to build things!

That’s why we work hard to help industry navigate complex approval pathways to bridge the gap between plans on paper and energy molecules in motion.

Values we stand by

Commitment

We’re motivated to serve our team members, customers, and then ourselves, so we can grow and succeed together.

Energy

We’re enthusiastic about the contributions we make to our customers, families and communities.

Candor

We’re always genuine and honest, even when we are uncomfortable, because we want the best ideas to prevail.

Humility

We speak through our results, and would rather compliment a teammate’s contribution than our own.

Enterprising

We set long-term goals that require risk-taking and grit, and continuous improvement, because excellence is a journey.

ANALYTICAL SERVICES
MANAGER
I’m most excited right now by analyzing trends in power demand and generation mix changes — which cut across policy, infrastructure, and economics. Understanding how they intersect with permitting constraints is exactly the kind of systems-thinking I enjoy and right up my alley as a former FERC-er.

FAQs

Is Arbo only focused on oil and gas?

Arbo maintains significant expertise and analytical product offerings focused on gas, LNG, crude oil, condensates, and refined products, but we also are developing expertise and products focused on power generation and transmission projects and how shifting policy and demand trends impact both traditional and renewable generation and transportation assets.

What are Arbo’s products and services?

Arbo offers a suite of analytics, data integrations, research, and analytical services that empower energy market participants to make faster, smarter, and more confident decisions. Your customized subscription will deliver actionable intelligence, automate complex data analysis, and provide bespoke data insights that drive commercial success and risk mitigation in an increasingly volatile market.

Arbo Analytics comprises cloud software platforms, alerting products, and periodical analytics reports, including but not limited to:

  • Liquids Commerce Platform – The only comprehensive, real-time geospatial tariff database for North American crude, condensate, and products pipelines, with 30+ years of history, connecting destinations and origins with dynamic netback algorithms. Supports midstreamers, marketers, and traders to automate rate research, visualize routes and markets, identify arbitrage opportunities, and benchmark competitors.

The software provides alerts on bookmarked filing entities, so users can always be informed of the most current rates and regulations on their pipelines of interest.

  • Oil Pipeline Tariff Monitor – Inside the Liquids Commerce Platform, OPTM subscribers access a bi-weekly publication compiled by our expert tariff team, drawing on decades of experience in industry. This report provides comprehensive summaries of every tariff filing within the past two weeks, an updated list of tariff filings going back another 30 days to show additional actions taken, plus summaries of protests, complaints, requests for declaratory orders, rate indexing proceedings, and more.
  • Gas Asset Analytics Platform – Designed to aggregate and visualize detailed intelligence on interstate natural gas pipelines and LNG terminal projects. Users can query and benchmark project timing and costs with interactive charts and dynamic search tools. Lookup project filings since 2008 to track federal review timelines and opposition. Access operational and financial filing data including point-to-point transportation contracts.

The platform provides customizable alerts for CP and RP docket filings, ensuring users remain informed about relevant project milestones and rate changes to manage risk and identify commercial opportunities.

  • EBB Transaction Analytics – Daily alerts and monthly trend analytics for interruptable and capacity release transactional reports on major pipeline systems.
  • Gulf Coast Infrastructure Project Tracking – Aggregated monthly updates on interstate, intrastate, and LNG project progression with uniquely comprehensive coverage of regulatory and permitting milestones and dynamic ISD projections.

ArView Research comprises two products, Insights and Project Intelligence.

  • Project Intelligence Alerts – Rapid event analysis designed to help traders, marketers, and fundamental analysts stay ahead of market moves by accurately forecasting ramp schedules and in-service dates for major projects (e.g., Plaquemines LNG blocks), identifying schedule delays or accelerations not typically reflected in the forward strip. Covers interstate and intrastate pipelines and LNG terminals according to customers’ projects of interest.
  • Research Insights – Twice-weekly narrative analyses (~1500 words) including data visualizations on regulatory, legal, and policy events impacting infrastructure and commodity markets. Our 1000+ article archive is keyword searchable — great for getting up to speed on topics and infrastructure projects we cover. Each Insight comes to your inbox with a BLUF (bottom line, up front) — presenting an issue, why we think it matters, and an actionable viewpoint derived from Arbo intelligence.

ArboIQ Analytical Services includes rapid custom research, data analysis, visualizations, and on-demand expert consultations to support commercial and strategic decisions.

Does Arbo advocate or lobby on behalf of industry?

While our data and viewpoints are used to influence many stakeholders, Arbo does not engage directly in advocacy or any political action activities.

Our company values integrity and candor and will present analysis and viewpoints sometimes contrary to those of our customers and stakeholders.

Arbo believes, to the maximum extent possible, data should drive decision-making and this is a core component of its value proposition.

What is Arbo’s business model?

Our primary model is data and analytics-as-a-service with subscription and usage-based pricing for teams, business units, and enterprises. Leveraging a leading edge cloud-based data acquisition engine, Arbo delivers intelligence via web-based applications, API integrations, and customizable platform-driven alerting. Analytical services in the form of responsive analyses and traditionally scoped consulting projects are provided by the ArboIQ line of business.

Does Arbo only analyze regulatory and legal data?

Nope! We provide software and analytics to the energy marketing, transportation and trading industries used for decision analysis, business automation, project development, and regulatory affairs management.
